1) To win the World Series, you have to get to the World Series. Having him out of the AL helps that.
2) I think one Goliath team is better than 2-3 super teams. All it takes is one David to take down a team that has a bad stretch. Sometimes sheer talent doesn’t end up winning in baseball. We were going to be underdogs against the Dodgers even if they didn’t have Tucker. If a team manages to upset the Dodgers en route to the World Series, you could see a much more beatable team represent the NL in the World Series.
3) Beating the Dodgers in the World Series would be even sweeter now.

Yeah. I’m more upset at the principle of what happened than I am at losing out on this specific player. He is very good but not the difference maker that contract would indicate. He is not a Judge or an Ohtani, he’s not even a Soto.
He’s not even a Vladdy IMO.
Oh well.
