I always look at a stat like +/- as a comparative stat, like how well is he doing compared to his teammates?
He was by far and away the worst player at 5v5 on the Bruins. The next closest in that category was Casey Mittlestadt who was traded mid-season 2 different times and had a pretty bad -17 in 18 games. Still, not close to -43. Most players on the bruins were in the single digits, mostly on the minus side. Nikita Zadorov led the team with a +25.

I agree, but I prefer to split +/- by situation, here are his 2024-25 splits:
Empty net: 2GF, 15GA, -13
5v5: 52GF, 72GA, -20
3v3: 2GF, 4GA -2
PP: 22GF, 8GA, -8
He's doing better this year, in a much more sheltered role and he is +5 at even strength. He's not out there with the empty net, and hasn't been on the ice for a PP GA. I think he's going to have a similar career to Kylington and Bean, so this acquisition wouldn't make any sense unless the Flames flip him to a 3rd team.
