All I know is there is a big risk you are taking with waiting until the deadline with injury potential. Whether that risk is 1% or 5%, it is still a risk no matter how you argue it.

There is a big risk for buyers too. Many of the potential buyers don't know exactly where they stand yet and if it is worth going all in this season, and the few that are sure can afford to wait and aren't desperate to add. Many of the potential buyers also only have the assets to make one splash. They don't want to spend their assets on one player as a specific position because injuries happen. They can't be certain that their needs don't change in the next month or that better options become available as the standings shake out more.
I can think of a lot of reasons why buyers would wait, especially this year, and until more buyers present themselves, sellers probably aren't getting great deals.
