Default Good golf deals in Alberta

Lets have a thread where we share some ideas about some good courses to play and what days these places offer up good deals for people.

We all know Kananaskis is fantasitc for resident Albertans....but I think it's all but impossible to get on unless you book a tee time 6 monts in advance. But I suspect you can be on a waiting list for cancellations? I played Mount Kitt once because someone I knew was able to come accross a tee time, and we had to bring someone a Saskatoon pie.

I played Mens Night at Wolf Creek last Monday. Wolf Creek is about 45km North of Red Deer just off Hiway 2. For $50 you got 18 holes of golf a shared power cart and your choice of the buffet dinner or a burger off their menu and a beer in the restaurant afterwards. I play about an 18 handicap and it was my first round of the year but I found the Wolf to be pretty challengin. Undulated greens, and you have to hit good approach shots to keep your ball on the green. A few tee shots are pretty narrow and you have to make a good shot to carry some obstacles. IMO a beginner golfer is over his head there in my opinion. I've talked to a lot of golfers who have said they didn't like the course because it's too tough. I don't think it's too tough, but you have to play a good game to score well there as it doesn't really give you many oppurtunities to recover from a bad shot.

I'm heading to a course called Black Bull tommorrow for their Wednesday 2 for 1 special Apparently for $69 you get your golf as well as a powercart. Although in reading their site it also said $29 twilight rate after 4:00. First I'll see if the deal is legit...and than I'll post my course review.

Anyone else have some info on other courses?
