There's something be said of excessive force and even discharging a firearm in a residential area over something so trivial that the courts will absolutely look at (if it isn't fully blanketed by orange man). Stray bullets could have easily killed bystanders or residents, the vehicle could have struck pedestrians etc. Frankly it is a complete miracle this didn't end up horrifically worse than it did with multiple fatalities. Considering the situation, simply blasting their siren and instructing her to move out of the road would have been appropriate compared to what amounts to escalating the situation 1000x.
Only a complete lunatic would have responded that way to this sort of action. And yes, this is going to be the next thing that becomes commonplace in the land of the free. What a dump and downright deplorable place it has become. You can almost envision these losers driving up and snorting creatine jonsing at the chance to screw with someone.
