I think the Andersson return will end up being a standard return for a rental top 4 defenceman. Maybe a little more because he is having a really good season. But, while Conroy is in a position on of strength in the negotiation right now, it will be a case of taking the best available deal at some point - whether it’s before the Olympics or at the TDL. Conroy might be demanding the equivalent of 2 first round picks right now but, if there is 1 hour left at the TDL and the best offer out there is the equivalent of a first round pick and a second round pick, then I guess that’s what he’ll have to take.
Kadri and Coleman are a different story. I think the only way they get traded this season is if a team steps up and overpays to get them. Conroy has little motivation to trade them this season. They are good vets that are playing well and like playing for the flames. That’s not to say he won’t trade them - just that it will take an overpay to do it. He could trade Coleman today for a 2nd + 3rd round pick… that would probably be the normal price for a player like him. But in order to get Conroy to make the trade this year, I bet it takes more like a 1st + 2nd round pick.
