It shouldn't because the focus should be on long term and not making decisions based on outcomes of single games, but I do think these two losses help reinforce what needs to be the plan.
Because now they are back in 30th by point percentage, have 6 teams between them and the final playoffs spot, and now it's a 5 point gap, that makes things pretty clear.
And of the teams in the west they have the hardest strength of schedule remaining at .586, and it's a pretty big gap actually.
1) Flames - .586
2) Winnipeg - .575
3) St. Louis - . 569
4) Minnesota - .569

Schedule and points % aside, there is nothing I have seen from this franchise that leads me to believe they will handcuff this team and its chances of making a run (as obviously minute as it is) by moving Andersson, Coleman, Kadri etc out while they are merely 5 points out of a playoff position.
Conroy is most surely handcuffed himself by ownership, and unable to make any sort of futures move until the situation becomes far more obviously dire. I would suggest until this team is closer to 10 points back this organization will continue to hold off and hope to get hot and sneak in.
It's sad but this is the reality we are in as fans of the Flames. No reason to offer the team any good will on that front until they show they are actually prepared to take a step back in order to take a few forward.
