At the same time I see a player that is going to pinch and does not have the wheels to be able to recover. He is going to lose more puck races and create more odd man rushes.
I think in the defensive zone he gets caught watching the puck and not playing his assigned area and trusting his teammates to do their jobs.

Yes maybe he can, I am just in the minority when it comes to seeing his ability and desire to do so. I think that means he tops out as a bottom pairing need for offense style of defenseman.

If he doesn’t have top end speed, he has world class agility. He can change direction effortlessly, which will give him extra defensive range.
