Lucic 7 years, $42 million ($6 AAV) signed in 2016. Traded after 104 points over 3 years.
Neal 5 years, $28.75 million ($5.75 AAV) signed in 2018 by Calgary, acquired one year in. Bought out after two years with the Oilers and 41 points.
Souray - 5 years, $27 million ($5.4 AAV) signed in 2007. Sent to the minors and bout out in 2010-11.
Nurse - 8 years, $74 million ($9.25 AAV) - in 2021, one the the NHL's top paid defensemen, yet never to play as one.
Horcoff - 6 years, $33 million ($5.5 AAV) in 2008 - had a 50 point season the first year before having his play and numbers drop off significantly.
Khabibulin - 4 years, $16 million ($4 AAV) in 2009 and was a poor backup for four years. His record was 33-67-14.
