The thing they never seem to take into account in this whole meat consumption is bad thing is that the emisssions from the cows are coming from a renewable source. Yes the cows emit greenhouse gases. Those greenhouse gases are then recouped when new wheat is grown a small portion of that wheat ends up sequestered underneath the ground. As far as I can see the only way that wheat wuold contribute more to GHGs would be if the cattle feed you were using had to be transported large distances.
