It was getting a little better just before the injury. But the frequency of him getting scratched was still concerning.

I've stopped worrying about how Huska eases players into the lineup. He's really good at it.
My guess is that Huska's deadline was something like, have Zayne ready by the time we ship Ras out of here.
Without the injury, I bet by now people would be clamouring for Zayne to be promoted from the 3rd pair. He learns fast. But he'll be paired with Bahl soon IMO and that should help quite a bit with the physical side of NHL play. In the off-season he does need to add mass for protection though.
