Maybe I was watching something different, but with Parekh I did not see a player stifled and held back by the coaching staff. I saw a young player who was physically overwhelmed by the NHL, and a coaching staff trying to manage his matchups to protect him as much as possible. Trying to keep his body and confidence from getting clobbered while his body develops to an NHL level.
