Also keep this in mind; and I say it as a buddy and not to be preachy. I'm going to guess you are in your early 20's- let's say 22. Now think back 10 years ago- to 12 years old. If you could have gotten any tattoo then- what would it have been? Pokemon? Transformers? Bart Simpson saying "Aye Carumba!"?
The thing is- you may think you are all grown up. Don't worry we all thought that at your age. But in reality you do as much growing up between 22 and 32 as you did the previous 10 years.
Think of why people used to get tatoos- like army buddies who fought and died together. Fortunately our generation doesn't have the big threat of war like 50-60 years ago; but try to make your first tattoo something profound; something you'll be proud to show your grandkids down the road.

I personally have a couple tattoos, but I've designed them all myself and they represent a certain aspect of either how I grew up or just really significant experiences in my life. I've never been a fan of the flash tattoos that a lot of people seem to get. If you're going to get a tattoo realize that it's there basically forever, you're going to want it to count and you're going to want it to count for a really long time.
