Yuck. So CBS is owned by Paramount and Paramount is currently racing with Netflix to take over Warner Bros.
Trump is trying to force the WB sale to Paramount because he wants more media under his control. Paramount ownership is tied to him directly through the Ellison family and Jared Kushner was involved in Paramount's hostile takeover bid (although he has now exited the group) and apparently the Saudis are in there too. Like how the Saudis were gifting Trump a new airplane.... grifts everywhere!
The whole thing is a mess and really reinforces the idea that we need an organization like CBC more than ever before and we need to put up stronger firewalls between Canada and American media.
