At the end of the day I hope you can gloat and say “I told you so” to the skeptics on this board because the flames pivoted due to their terrible start and accelerated the sell off of some veterans because they put themselves in a deep hole at the start of the year.
If the deadline comes and goes and Andersson is the only piece that moves out then I struggle to see this as a positive proactive season. If they land a top 5 pick that will salvage holding onto the mid 30’s vets but based on the last 24 games they are closer to playing at a bubble team rate rather than a bottom feeder.
I am hopeful they move off all 3 vets and see it as a possibility but knowing how this organization has operated in the past it is also fair to assume they will only trade the player with the expiring contract and hold onto the rest.
