I also had to buy a new Panasonic microwave under similar circumstances. On one hand, I was happy to see it was dimensionally the same as my 14 yr old one so the trimkit still fit the new one. On the other hand, it made me realize that the underlying guts and technology of the thing hasn't changed in 14 years, other than being made in a lower cost center and the price doubling. Paying $450 for a 1.6cu ft vs $198 for a 1.2cu ft also RGMG given the small lift in size.
