I brought a car the other way, from Calgary to Vancouver. Hardest part was figuring out how to insure the car for the drive home and re-register it in BC. I had a lot of conflicting information and the dealer wasn't much help, fortunately I found the right insurance agent who knew her business.
Nice thing about your situation is you get to remove the front plate once you're home, as opposed to having to add it to an Alberta car with no bracket!
