While it is the same union, according to Friedman and other insiders, the AHL is closing in a five year CBA.
So I assume all the players Freeway has listed on AHL deals, will be okay to call up.
Also if the AHL team decides they need an ECHL player without an AHL contract as an injury fill in they typically sign them to an AHL try out contract.
Problem is depending on how long this strike goes, where will these guys play? Also wonder about how players on 2 way AHL deals will get paid.
