80s had things like Aliens, The Fly, The Thing, Predator, Robocop, Terminator, ET, Blade Runner, Back to the Future.
90s had Matrix, Jurassic Park, Total Recall, Fifth Element, Men in Black, Independence Day, Starship Troopers, Terminator 2.
It's pretty close but I might have to give a slight edge to the 80s, just more all time classics
