A potential trade market for a player getting smaller never seems to be a good thing, the more teams interested the more likely to be a bidding war where somebody overpays.

Eh, all it takes is two to three interested teams and he can still be traded to the majority of the league. Montreal might not have wanted to commit to Kadri’s contract. Hard to say it was a big miss on the Flames end.
