If the Flames build a winning team, and have a new arena, they will have no issue attracting free agents.

I don't think any free agent they would be looking to sign, 2,3,4 years down the road would go "Calgary has a great offer but they traded Kadri that one time when they were bottom 5 in the league while he wanted to be there...I shouldn't sign there"

You can be good people and care about the human side of things, while still doing what is best for the organization.

And that's the fault with the Flames. They're super cautious about stuff like that. Always have been .
