You can see how Sage is 'forever a bridesmaid' in real life. Just dumb social decisions driven by the emotions of someone who never got past high school level self esteem issues. She's certainly not part of Rizzo & Savanah's longer term plan (other than to be repeatedly manipulated and used), and yet gave up her shot at them for what?
Yeah she currently wasnt going to beat Steven in front of the jury, but she sure as heck isnt beating Rizzo and Savanah, and being reduced to their disposable ikea pawn is just another step back on jury management.
