There was a large contingent that wanted to flip Huberdeau immediately and start from scratch. Probably should have considering we had just lost our two best players since Iginla and our closest shot to sustained playoff dances for the next 10 years.

General consensus was it was an amazing trade given the circumstances. I definitely thought they’d have a two year window to keep competing and then they’d have to deal with their UFAs. Boy that didn’t turn out well.
