I think they especially deserve credit for pivoting quickly this season and increasing their odds of adding a franchise player in this next draft by moving Hughes early, and resisting trading him for a bunch of older players like the flames did with tkachuk
Willander, Buium, Cootes, Rossi and Lekkerimaki are all going to be core pieces for them for a long time. If they keep sucking and add mckenna they will be better than the flames more quickly and for quite a while too. They are doing a rebuild in like 3 years while ours is taking a decade because of how ####ing stupid our executive and ownership is

No they don't.
Buium = Parekh
Willander > Brzustewicz,
Cootes = Reschny
Rossi = Coronato
Lekkerimaki = Gridin
But we also have:
Wolf in net, with a deeper pool
Bahl, Kuznetsov, Mews on D
Zary, Honzek, Suniev, Wyttenbach and a much deeper secondary core of prospects up front
We have more picks upcoming than they do, and we'll be selling valuable assets this year to add more (much more than they can)
