I wasn't saying Andersson is equivalent to Hughes. I'm saying the Wild could have solidified their defense for a lot less. And by solidified I don't just mean right now, I mean long term. But who knows, maybe Hughes extends in Minnesota next season.
That being said, Hughes this season has been a far cry from the game changer he's been in previous seasons. A change of scenery might be all he needs, but what if it isn't? What if The Wild gave up all these assets for a guy who still isn't feeling it? I suspect Hughes will bounce back, presuming recent injuries don't slow him down. But it is a huge risk the Wild are taking here.
This return has also likely increased Andersson's trade value considerably. Arguably more than even the Lindholm return. Interesting to see all the teams vying for Hughes, those are all likely talking to Conroy now.
