Heard a bit of stauffer yesterday, and he mentioned a couple things which I thought were weird from damage control speak. Said they had to trade him because the team has become to mentally fragile with Skinner in net. which i think that is pretty short sighted considering no matter what goalie they put in the results have been the same. Talbot, Smith, Campbell, Skinner, etc. They have always left their goalie out there to sink or swim and when they can't, they replace them. Jarry will be the next tombstone in the goalie graveyard.
The other thing he mentioned to justify the trade and having to trade Kulak is that Kulak has priced himself out of edmonton. He figures Kulak will get 5m and at that price would have lost him anyways.
Not exactly something I think you want to hear when trying to run it back. Even worse they had to add a pick in the trade. So now they went lateral with the goalie to try to get a reset because their team is soft, but they made their defense worse. All this because their cap situation is complete mess.
I don't know how you can look at that trade and think they are a better team.
