Standings are very tight, seems like extra 3 point games that result in a tighter standings than ever. Bottom teams aren't that bad, Canucks just made a huge move to go all in on getting the top pick and got a great return for Hughes.
Flames turn, they need to step up very soon IMO

I meant it more as their 26 year old star indicated they wouldn't re-sign.
Flames went one direction with that deal to try to keep their window open and we saw how it played out.
Canucks went the other direction and are using it to signal the start of a rebuild.
Many fans use the Tkachuk deal as what should have been the start of the Flames rebuild with a futures heavy deal. The Canucks just did that so it will be interesting to see how things play out.
Either way I also feel like the Canucks were a lot more proactive in the scenario than the Flames have ever been with stuff like this.
