Normal international strategy would dictate that this is a good strategy. You hit us, we'll hit back where we know it hurts... however, this is not a normal situation, and therefore normal policy and strategy has to be tossed out the window. They are not dealing with normal, accountable state players that have responsibilities to protect their territory as in normal international relations. All this would accomplish is escalate an already fragile situation into something with no forseeable end.
