GMing in the NHL is a game of chicken and misdirection, it always has been. The only constant is the trade deadline, that is the only thing that will not change through the year so GMs will naturally play game and play the media until then. Not making them available to me is GM code for I have a price in mind and it has not been met or no serious offers that would make me want to talk to a player with trade protection.
