Tij is playing at a 1.588 PPG pace, as a 19-year old Forward in the WHL. Take his injury into account and call it his D+1 year.
Parekh played his entire D+1 year as an 18-year old Defenseman in the OHL, at a 1.75 PPG pace. He also had a slow start, with only 14 points in his first 15 games. This means he played his final 56 games at a 2.02 PPG pace.
There is nothing crazy about the notion of taking Parekh over Iginla even if we had the chance, and thus far Iginla's D+1 (technically D+2) season is not even close to Parekh's (actual) D+1.
