Stick it out over the weekend. If not improving go back and see if the glasses need to be adjusted (up/down/tilt etc). Some people just do not adapt to certain brands/styles and you might need it remade to a different one. Stick with it. Once you get everything right you will be happy.
The thing with Surgery is that unless you want to go with Refractive Lens Exchange you will still be in Progressives/readers. Even with that surgery you may not be glasses free.
