Yes, I would gladly pay $100 for a wallet I know will last. Changing wallets is a PITA and bad/broken down wallets will destroy your cards.
Plus, having a nice well worn in leather wallet gives you a lot more credibility than pulling out some canvas/velcro ordeal.

Is that a thing, and if it is, why?
I mean I get it you can't use a ziploc anymore which is what I used through my late teens and through my 20's.
