I think both Teyana Taylor and Sean Penn were playing roles that could verge onto the side of hammy and annoying, so it was a tight rope to walk.
It was almost a 2 part series over 1 single movie,
Moderate spoiler if you don't know much about this movie going in
Part 1 was OK, Part 2 was compelling, I would almost describe Leo's role as Magoo meets Ethan Hunt and it was a fun ride.
