Is there a possibility the flames could extract more quality in trading Andersson + Coleman together (both at full retention) instead of separately? If we assumed the following typical returns for each player alone:
Andersson: 1st round pick + 3rd round pick + B-level prospect
Coleman: 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick
What should the return be if Andersson + Coleman were packaged together at full retention with the purpose of getting higher quality in return instead of quantity?
Example:
To Andersson (50% retained) + Coleman (50% retained) in exchange for a 1st round pick + A-level prospect.
Flames have lots of quantity in the system so focusing on getting high end prospects could be more important at this stage.
It also helps mitigate some of the risk from the acquiring team. Even if Andersson does not sign an extension with that team, they at least get Coleman for more than just one playoff run.
