The league planned to be at a different stage in the business model by 2025/26, but regardless, if they as a league can’t gain more widespread attention and traction after this summer, it’s hard to see how else they ever will make those gains and there will be a natural drop off of corporate support for a couple years.
Sure there are properly run teams who had managed through the challenges and deficits, but is 4 teams enough to sustain a league?

I think the steady rise of MLS is going to help us. The absolute mega popularity of the NFL has a stranglehold on Canadians as well.
As MLS positions itself to rival the top leagues in Europe, I think soccer could outpace sports like NHL in popularity in the future. And what happens in the States, affects what happens here. Canadians may turn into bigger soccer fans if Americans do it first. Couple that with larger immigration numbers coming to Canada, and soccer may have a chance.
I just hope it survives long enough until we see that big growth.
