I always thought the suspensions should be future games against the opponent you fowled against. That way the opponent gets more benefit since they likely suffered some kind of loss at the time plus it gives a cooling off game(s) so that player isn't in the lineup to be revenged against right away. If that makes sense.

But what if they don’t play the same team till next season and the suspended player switches teams? or if it’s an enforcer that rarely plays and they’re not even in the league by the time you play that team again?
