The goal of every team is to make the playoffs and win the Stanley Cup if they can. That's what the entire league is based on. For an executive of a team to say so is a complete nothingburger. What, you were expecting him to say, ‘Our goal is to lose games on purpose’? Nobody ever does that, and nobody buys tickets to see a team throw games.

You'd have to be an idiot to pay a billion-plus dollars for a small-market franchise that isn't allowed to relocate. I don't see too many idiots with that kind of money.
