Division champs in the weakest division in the league. They had Nieuwendyk, Fleury, Roberts, Otto, MacInnis and Vernon left from the '89 team, plus Robert Reichel and a collection of spare parts. And Reichel was such an anti-clutch player, they put his picture on milk cartons every April.
The '94 team was weaker than the '93 team, which lost in the first round, and that team was weaker than the '91 team, which lost in the first round. The particular way Vancouver won the series was a massive fluke. That the Flames
lost the series was pretty much expected and dreaded in advance.
