I think I said this in the Blues GDT too, but one way to show that "things are different" would be to beat the few teams below or near us in the standings. We failed to do that against the Blues losing 3-0.
Will we carry momentum from the beat down we just gave the Oilers into this game and build off of that dominant win?
Or will we come out flat and get outworked for 60 minutes and lose to another one of the few teams actually worse than us this season?

Yeah, this has all the makings of either a Flames blowout or an aggravating 3-2 or 2-1 loss where the Sabres carry play for the majority of the game, but get goalie'd by Cooley. Small sample size, but he's only surrendered 7 goals in 5 games and has a .935 save percentage. Also doesn't have a win yet on the season, so there's another seemingly random/inconsequential item that will work against the great deliverers of hockey milestones.

If the Sabres come out flat and allow one or two goals in the first 10 minutes, then my view would be WTF is wrong with you guys?! In such case, Lindy needs to bench everyone possible for as long as possible. Heck, if Tage and Tuch (two masters of the slow start) come out flat, then send them into the freaking locker room for the rest of the first period, and tell them to come out for the second only if they are ready to play.

I got tied up with work and am only now checking on the game. I see it's 2-2, which is not bad. I also see that the Flames scored 2x in the first 12 minutes and, based on the comments below, the Sabres came out flat. Who could have predicted that? WTF is wrong with these guys? How could everyone last person (and their little sister) know that it was a foreseeable problem, yet the coaches and players still let it happen?

Just saw the Flames third goal. I never have a good feeling when Bryson pinches. It is ALWAYS a problem and he doesn't drive back to reestablish himself near his net. Rosen could have played that better, sure, but that was a supposed veteran player who #### the effort to get back after getting caught really, really deep.
