I am not a fan at all of Murray Edwards, but at the same time I know he is not an idiot either. My concern with him comes with the new rink. Is he going to be willing to sit through a rebuild when he knows it will be harder to justify charging higher prices without a playoff team.

The other issue is how long is the rebuild going to be... is Murray fine with a 2 year rebuild? A 3 year? A 5 year? It will take a several years to become a playoff team again and I think he knows this.

While most of the fanbase knows what needs to happen for us to become a contender, a lot of this is all dependent on ownership. Which is frustrating as a fan, as I believe we have a very, very good GM. Who could make some really great moves here if he's given the chance.
I'm sorry I dumped on you the other day, calling you one of the worst posters on the site. (You're still very irritating at times, mind you. So am I, I know.)

This post is one of the best thought-out and phrased things I've ever seen you write. Often you focus so tightly on the negatives, it seems like you hate the whole organization and everything about it. It's refreshing to find that you see some positives as well, that you like Conroy as a GM and recognize that Murray Edwards isn't a complete fool.

I'm out of thanks at the moment – but thank you.
