Brunicke in Pittsburgh is pretty much in the same situation as Parekh. He can't be sent to the AHL, but the Pens are apprehensive about sending him back to the CHL. He has only played 9 games so far this season and has been healthy scratched the last 5 games in a row and the Pens said today that they might send him to the AHL for a conditioning stint.
When asked about sending him back to junior, they were really vague and just said that they "have a plan" for him. It's funny though, because when Huska does it with Parekh, it's because he hates kids and wants to punish him.
As a side, I didn't realize that scratching a player 5 games in a row makes them eligible for an AHL conditioning stint. The Flames should have did that with Parekh before he got hurt.
