It's interesting enough of a premise, but the show moves really slowly.
If they're really putting $15 million(?) into each episode, that seems wasteful for how plodding and uneventful much of them are. You could effectively convey the same story on a fraction of the budget.
Vince doesn't need a big time hollywood budget to do his thing.
Following Carol is also a bit taxing. It's like if Breaking Bad followed Skylar around while she's brooding and being miserable. She's so quick to anger and hysterics, and sees the situation predominantly negatively which sabotaged her efforts with the other 'survivors'.
And sure, what they did to her friend justifies that kind of. But it's also unproductive.
But I guess that's the whole angle of the show. Some of it is amusing, but also frustrating because of her. She doesn't have welcome the alien mindvirus or abuse its benefits like the other guy, but it would be better if she was even a little more analytical and curious so that she could form a strategy. Instead she's stumbling through this situation stupidly and creating more consequences.
At least it appears like the gears were finally starting to turn in her head towards the end of episode 3. But given what she was asking it about this probably won't end well lol.
