The longer the season goes on the more likely it is he gets traded as a rental. Players of his caliber get moved for 1sts or equivalent as a rental all the time and if the flames retain half he should bring back a lot. And comparing the value to what we got for players like hanifin even after agreeing to sign a deal, when your market is limited to 1-3 teams what is the difference for the flames, a bad prospect?
I dont see any scenario where detroit trade kasper. He's struggling this year but hes basically put up 20 goals and 40 points as a 20 year old while being one of their best two way forwards. He's backlund with a much higher ceiling. Danielson has never really set the world on fire since coming into their system and he is from Alberta if the flames scouts like him that could make sense. Their 1st is way too risky for them to trade. They have two fairly high end goalie prospects so one of those guys could get dealt but obviously not a need for the flames long run. Don't see them moving branding either but max plante could be an interesting guy as well.
That sort of flashy playmaker is what the flames are missing but hes far from a sure thing
