The Red Wings have been rumoured to be wanting Andersson since the summer. It makes sense as their NHL RD depth is fairly nonexistent after Seider.
Seider is averaging 25:20 TOI right now, which is really, really high. Chiarot (LD) is the only vet worth mentioning as Hamonic (I forgot he was still active) is only playing 13:53 per night and only in 9/19 games. Everyone else in the D group is between 20-25 years old.
The Red Wings would benefit greatly from adding Andersson in the near term to be a leader in a group of rookies and help stabilize their season so they can finally return to the playoffs. To that end, it makes sense for them to make a trade sooner than later to gain more benefit in the season.
The price would have to be one of Kasper or Danielson. The Flames do not need a winger or RD and with Kuznetsov looking good thus far in the season I would say that a LD is not a priority either.
So can it go across as a 1:1 or does the Flames need to add? If the Flames need to add, I do not think it is a huge add considering there are other suitors. 3rd round pick? B prospect?
