The Clintons seem to be fiercely protective of their legacy, and it always seemed likely that this was the reason everything hasn't come out. They probably have some mutual destruction agreement if one goes down, they take the other side down with them.
That's all too bad though, because I would guess most democrat supporters today would have no issue with Clinton going down if he deserved it.
