I may as well weigh in. haha. see what I did there? My max was 255. I tried to go on Vitamin Oz about 18 months ago but it wasn't covered and I wasn't ready to commit. Having said that, I did lose about 20 pounds immediately. I went from 1mg to 2 mg and it was too big of a jump with bad side effects. About three months ago I go the talk from the Dr. and did the glucose test. It was not good. She told me to go on Oz and try to adjust my lifestyle. After the three months she was shocked at my numbers. Technically not D2 anymore, but once you get the scarlett letter D on your forehead, it sticks with you. I have recently gone up to 1.5 mg as I plateaued. It does not seem to have helped, but having said that I am going through a lot of stuff right now so I had to let something slide and my diet has been it. Having said that, I tend to have a small breakfast, and if I am busy, not eath anything until around 4:30. Then I will usually have an Inspired Go salad and I am mostly good for the day. I have not ramped up my exercise beyond the daily 30-minute dog walk. I am sure once I do that, it will get better results but that is a work in progress.
I should add I was drinking one or two cocktails (with manly pours, so probably a ton of booze, 3-4 nights a week of whisky. I actually fell down the stairs at a restaurant when I was 7-8 sheets to the wind and got a bad concussion at the end of August. I have not had a drop since. I sometimes think it would be nice to have a drink —the smell, the taste, the ritual —but I don't feel like it. All this to say, I think there may be something to the reducing urges element.
Scott Galloway agrees with the take of putting it in the water supply and it is one of his big predictions for what is coming down the road vis a vis healthcare in the U.S.
