Gotta be January or February, it's close between the two.
January is bleakest, darkest, coldest and there's no break in it. But you still have a bit of Christmas leftover which can carry you through the first few weeks.
February is shorter, has a holiday in it, and the days getting noticeably longer again. But football is (mostly) over and there isn't much on the calendar to look forward.
Still, I'm going to go with January. Just not enough good things going for it.
