Had a very heavy gluten day yesterday. Work function, couple beers and pretzel bites aplenty. My arms were on fire last night and guts not good today. I google DM'd gluten arm rash and its the exact thing.

Doctor not helping, some creme that doesn't do anything, blood tests every couple weeks for pretty much a year.

How does it usually present itself?
Yes. I had the same. Initially diagnosed as eczema and they provided lots of creams that helped with the itch but never really touched the underlying issue.
This is kinda gross but if there are small pus-filled bumps when your skin first flares up then that's probably what it is.

Ask for two things:
- Blood work. They can test for your body's reaction to the gluten. Mine was 10x above the normal levels.
- Skin Biopsy. GP can refer you to a dermatologist who'll take a small sample of the outbreak area and test whether it's a gluten reaction.

If you're diagnosed the only cure is to stop eating gluten unfortunately. Like you I never had a problem with it until a year or two ago when my skin started breaking out.
Before you go off gluten, they might want to do an endoscopy to check on the damage to your small intestine (the test requires you continue eating gluten). But in the meantime they can give you a prescription for a pill called Dapsone which works wonders on the skin issues.
