I don't buy the argument that Parekh is "not ready" for the NHL.
While he hasn't shown that well thus far compared to his standard, it seems pretty clear (to me anyways) that two things separate from the team's struggles have contributed to his struggles and limited his chances to make an impact:
1) He hasn't really been put into a position to fully succeed by the coaching staff. I'm not against easing him in to the NHL - as it's a tough league to come in to - but there definitely have been multiple questionable decisions with respect to his deployment
2) He's been playing with a lingering injury which for any player in the NHL - and especially a teenage rookie - is going to affect how you play your normal game and limit your overall effectiveness.
Add those on top of playing on a team that struggles to score and doesn't generate a whole lot and you get what we're seeing with him. Personally, I think he's showed just fine for the most part despite the above.
I guess if you want to make the argument that continuing to put Parekh in these situations might destroy his confidence, or that he would benefit from time in the AHL (I agree), then those are fair points and separate arguments. But I don't believe that he's "not ready" to play in this league.
Anyways, unsure if this new injury is an aggravation of what he was dealing with previously but I hope they let him take the time to heal properly and come back when he's at 100% rather than try and rush him back with how bad this team is currently.
