This is the logic I use for March being the answer to this question.
This year for example, based on the long-range forecast, it's going to be mild through at least November 20 - so by January I'm not really going to be fed up of winter yet. We'll get the typical 2 week brutal cold snap usually between mid-December and end of February, then March hits... the month with the most snow on average. March is the point that I'm completely fed up with winter.
